Is it me? Am I the weird one??

Nope, it's not me, it's you

I’ve lost track of how many times I've been at a social gathering, with chatter and drinks flowing around, and someone eventually notices I’m just holding a glass of water.

It always turns into a conversation.

“Are you not drinking?”

“Are you sure you don't want some Coke?

Are you sure you don't want any crisps?” People look even more puzzled.

Or my personal favorite: “How boring."

But here’s the truth: I'm really quite happy with my glass of water!

I genuinely don’t want alcohol, fizzy drinks, or fruit juices.

I feel pretty good without them.

That confuses people, and honestly, I understand why.

We live in a world where saying no to what’s been normalized makes you the odd one out. But what’s strange about not wanting to fill your body with chemicals, additives, and alcohol, and then expecting it to work properly the next day?

I’m not trying to be difficult; I just stopped expecting my body to thrive on things that were never meant for it.

Some people feel uncomfortable with that because it makes them think:

If they didn’t drink, snack, or find comfort that way,

what would they have left? Just air and a glass of water?

That’s why I don’t explain myself anymore. (Who am I kidding?)

You don’t owe anyone an explanation for choosing to feel well. (But I still do it!)

When you start making choices based on awareness instead of autopilot, people will question it, not because it’s wrong, but because it challenges what they’ve accepted as normal. It exposes the idea that comfort and health can coexist in a processed package.

The truth is, you can’t maintain your peace while trying to satisfy everyone else’s version of “normal.” You have the right to protect your energy, your clarity, and your body — quietly, without debate. (Oh, but it's still coming)

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being aware of what your body is actually saying. In a world designed to keep you comfortably disconnected,

awareness isn’t rebellion just for the sake of it, it’s self-respect.

So no, I’m not drinking.

And yes, I’m perfectly fine with water.
