I'm halfway through editing updates for The BioHijack Second Edition… I had to share this.
The Bio Hijack Second Edition ON MENOPAUSE: "Another hard truth about medication that is over prescribed, are HRTs. Instead of asking why your hormones are out of balance, the system hands you HRT. Hormone replacement therapy can be life-changing for some women, especially when the body genuinely can't produce what it needs. But for many, it's just another band-aid slapped over a gut and liver that are struggling to process the hormones you already have. Adding synthetic hormones into the mix without fixing the foundation first is just adding more fuel to a fire that's already out of control.
In many cultures, menopause isn't seen as a loss or a medical crisis. It's revered. A woman entering her elder years, her wisdom years, the matriarch. In some Indigenous cultures, post-menopausal women are considered the most powerful, the ones who hold the community together, the keepers of knowledge. They're not 'past their prime,' they're in it.
But in the West? We've medicalized it. Turned it into something to manage, suppress, or 'fix' with pills. We've stripped it of its sacredness and replaced it with inconvenience, hot flashes, an excuse for anger and intolerance and then ultimately, a prescription.
I'm not saying menopause is easy, the symptoms are real. But what if, instead of treating it like a disease, we supported women through it? What if we nourished the gut, supported the liver, stabilized blood sugar, and let the body transition naturally?
Menopause isn't the end of vitality, it's a transformation and your body deserves to move through it with support and love."

The Crone Archetype: Reclaiming the Elder Woman
The Crone is the third stage of the maiden-mother-crone trinity found in many pre-Christian and Indigenous cultures. Far from being a symbol of decline, the Crone represents the pinnacle of a woman's power: wisdom, autonomy, and spiritual authority.
In Celtic tradition, the Crone was associated with the goddess Cailleach, the divine hag who controlled the seasons and held dominion over life and death. In Greek mythology, the three Fates (Moirai) were often depicted as elder women who wove, measured, and cut the thread of life, holding ultimate power over destiny. In many Indigenous North American cultures, elder women, particularly grandmothers, are revered as the keepers of oral history, medicinal knowledge, and community governance.
The Western demonization of the Crone began during the witch trials of the 15th-17th centuries, when older, unmarried, or post-menopausal women, often healers and herbalists, were targeted as threats to patriarchal and religious authority. The archetype of the "hag" or "witch" replaced the honored elder, and menopause became pathologized rather than revered.
And now you know!
