Sunday prep day and why it saves my bacon

Mealtime shouldn't be chaos - it should be intentionally nourishing

Let’s talk about the mess before the miracle.

There was a time when food felt like chaos for me.

I’d wake up with the best intentions, drink water, make a good choice, and by 4pm, I’d be knuckle-deep in refined carbs, tired, emotional, and mad at myself for “failing again.” Just because I didn't prioritize the time to prepare in advance.

And it wasn’t even just about the food.

It was emotional, as well as physical... I just didn't have the energy.

So, I started doing something small.

I claimed one day. Just one.

Sunday became my prep day.

Take 20 minutes to sit with a notebook and plan my meals for the week — not perfectly, just realistically.

Then I’d make a shopping list. Not just for groceries, but for me: a few meals I was excited to eat. A few moments I could look forward to.

Sometimes that meant batch-cooking a soup.

Other times it meant washing greens, roasting chicken thighs, and prepping smoothie bags.

And occasionally? It just meant ordering food that I could portion out and feel good about.

It wasn’t about control. It was about support.

And slowly, that support turned into stability.

Stability became rhythm.

And rhythm gave my nervous system the signal it had been waiting for: we’re safe now.

🛒 This week, I’m inviting you to do the same:

Claim one week.

Decide what you want to feel.

Create space next Sunday to set yourself up — even just a little.

Write your list.

Prep your meals.

Give yourself a shot at peace.

If you’re not sure where to start, hit reply.

Tell me what’s hardest for you: the planning? The food itself? The overwhelm?

I've got you.
